          SUBJECT  :   Republic of Armenia

           SUMMARY  :   Welcomes his Excellency Serj Sarkissian, President of 
          the Republic of Armenia, on the occasion of his visit to 
          California on September 24th to 26th, inclusive, 2011.  
          Specifically,  this resolution  makes the following legislative 
          findings:

          1)California is home to the largest Armenian-American population 
            in the United States; and Armenians have enriched the state 
            through their leadership in business, agriculture, academia, 
            government, and the arts.

          2)The President of the Republic of Armenia, his Excellency Serj 
            Sarkissian, will be visiting California on September 24 to 26, 
            2011, to open a new consular and trade offices in the cities 
            of Los Angeles and San Jose to promote and further improve the 
            economic relationship between California and Armenia.

          3)His Excellency will also participate in celebrations within 
            the Armenian-American communities to mark the 20th anniversary 
            of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.
