           DIGEST  :    This resolution designates February 6, 2012, as 
          Ronald Reagan Day.

           ANALYSIS  :    Ronald Reagan served as Governor of California 
          from 1967-75 and President of the United States from 
          1981-89 and the only person in California's history to be 
          elected President.

          This resolution makes the following legislative findings: 

          1. February 6, 2012, will be the 101st anniversary of 
             Ronald Reagan's birth and the eighth since his passing. 

          2. Ronald Reagan served with honor and distinction for two 
             terms as the 40th President of the United States of 
             America.  His commitment to our Armed Forces contributed 
             to the restoration of pride in America and prepared 
             America's Armed Forces to meet 21st century challenges.

          3. President Reagan's commitment to the nation's children 
             helped lower crime and drug use in our neighborhoods; 
             and his vision of "peace through strength" led to the 
             end of the Cold War. 

          4. President Reagan, a man of humble background, worked 
             throughout his life serving freedom and advancing the 
             public good, having been employed as an entertainer, 
             union leader, corporate spokesman, Governor of 
             California, and President of the United States.
