SUBJECT : Child Safety Awareness Month
SOURCE : Author
DIGEST : This resolution declares the month of May 2012
as Child Safety Awareness Month.
ANALYSIS : This resolution makes the following
legislative findings:
1. There are 6.8 million school-aged children in
California; and the safety of those children is
paramount and should be a concern for all.
2. When a child is missing, the child's parent or guardian
should report the disappearance to local authorities as
soon as possible; and to be as effective as possible, a
parent or guardian should have an American Football
Coaches Association (AFCA)/Federal Bureau of
Investigation (FBI) National Child ID Kit available that
includes a current photo and detailed information to
give to law enforcement and should file a missing
persons report.
