AB 272 (Monning) - As Amended: March 7, 2011
Policy Committee: HealthVote:19-0
Urgency: No State Mandated Local Program:
No Reimbursable: No
SUMMARY
This bill repeals several obsolete reporting requirements for
departments that administer or regulate health care programs.
Specifically, this bill deletes requirements that the following
departments submit reports on various topics relating to state
health programs: the Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board
(MRMIB), Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (DADP),
Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) and the California
Department of Insurance (CDI).
FISCAL EFFECT
Negligible fiscal effect. This bill only repeals requirements
related to specific reports that have already been submitted to
the Legislature.
COMMENTS
Rationale . According to the author, statutory language
describing various reporting requirements is no longer
necessary, because in each case the due date for reports has
passed and the reports have been completed and submitted to the
Legislature.
