   An act to amend Section 21959 of the Vehicle Code, relating to
vehicles.



	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1171, as introduced, Fong. Vehicles: ski or toboggan on
roadway.
   Existing law makes it unlawful for a person to ski or toboggan on
or across any roadway in a manner as to interfere with the movement
of vehicles on the roadway.
   This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes in that
provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 21959 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:
   21959.   (a)    It is unlawful for  any
  a  person to ski or toboggan on or across
 any   a  roadway in  such
 a manner as to interfere with the movement of vehicles
 thereon   on the roadway  .
    (b)     A  person on skis proceeding
on or across a highway at a pace no greater than a walk is not within
the prohibition of this section and shall be considered to be a
pedestrian with all the rights and duties  thereof 
 of a pedestrian  as prescribed in this code.
