2. Establishes a 10-member Gaming Policy Advisory

This bill requires the Gaming Policy Advisory Committee to
meet at least twice a year and would require the California
Gambling Control Commission to consult with the committee
on recommended proposed regulations, as specified.
Comments
According to the author's office, this bill seeks to
revitalize the Gaming Policy Advisory Committee by ensuring
that the committee actually holds meetings and requires the
Commission to consult with the committee on recommended
proposed regulations.
This bill will make the Gaming Policy Advisory Committee
more relevant to the Gambling Control Commission, gaming
industry, and the public at large. The Commission is
responsible for appointing and constituting the Advisory
Committee. Yet, under current law, there is no requirement
that the Advisory Committee meet. In fact, the committee
has not met for more than two years. This bill requires
the Advisory Committee to meet at least twice a year.
