   An act relating to local government.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1345, as introduced, Lara. Local government: boards and
councils.
   Existing law requires the governor to make an appointment to fill
a vacancy on the board of supervisors of a county, as specified.
   This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would create an appointment process to appoint
members to serve on the governing board or council of a local
government in the absence of a quorum.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would create an appointment process to appoint
members to serve on the governing board or council of a local
government in the absence of a quorum.
