SUMMARY : Allows human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) counselors
to perform hepatitis C virus (HCV) or combined HIV/HCV rapid
tests.
The Senate Amendments are technical and clarifying.
EXISTING LAW allows HIV counselors to perform rapid HIV tests
pursuant to the same requirements of this bill for the
performance of HCV or combination HIV/HCV tests.
AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this bill allowed HIV counselors to
perform HCV or HIV/HCV tests, with specified training and
experience requirements.
