           SUMMARY  

          This bill deletes language that continues the existence of the 
          Scientific Advisory Committee on Acid Deposition.  

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          No state costs.

           COMMENTS
           
          The committee was established to advise the Air Resources Board 
          in its implementation of the Atmospheric Acidity Protection 
          Program.  The committee's last action was oversight of the 
          program's final assessment in 2000, which concluded that acidic 
          pollutants were a moderate to minor problem in California.
