   An act relating to child safety.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1820, as introduced, Block. Child safety: day care, preschool,
and kindergarten facilities: push pins.
   Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of child
day care centers, including centers that provide preschool services,
and the establishment of various preschool and general child care and
development programs administered by the Superintendent of Public
Instruction and kindergarten programs maintained by school districts.

   This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would prohibit the use or possession of push pins on
the premises of a child day care facility, preschool, or
kindergarten classroom.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would prohibit the use or possession of push pins on
the premises of a child day care facility, preschool, or
kindergarten classroom.
