   An act to amend Section 51749.3 of the Education Code, relating to
pupil instruction.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1952, as introduced, Mendoza. Pupil instruction: independent
study: rules and regulations.
   Existing law authorizes the governing board of a school district
or a county office of education to offer independent study to meet
the educational needs of pupils in accordance with specified
provisions. Existing law requires the Superintendent of Public
Instruction to establish rules and regulations for the purposes of
implementing the provisions of law related to independent study.
   This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter
provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 51749.3 of the Education Code is amended to
read:
   51749.3.  The Superintendent  of Public Instruction
 shall establish rules and regulations for  the
 purposes of implementing this article.
