BILL NUMBER: AB 2085 INTRODUCED
BILL TEXT
INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Buchanan
FEBRUARY 23, 2012
An act to amend Section 15276 of the Education Code, relating to
school bonds.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 2085, as introduced, Buchanan. School bonds: county offices of
education.
Existing law authorizes the governing board of a school district,
community college district, or school facilities improvement
district, pursuant to a 2/3 vote of the governing board, to pursue
the authorization and issuance of bonds by a 55% vote of the
electorate, subject to certain additional requirements. Existing law
prohibits a county board of education from ordering an election to
determine whether bonds may be issued under these provisions to raise
funds for a county office of education.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the latter
provision.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
