An act to amend Section 5786 of the Public Resources Code,
relating to recreation and park districts.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 2115, as introduced, Alejo. Recreation and park districts:
powers and duties.
Existing law provides for the establishment of recreation and park
districts prescribes procedures for, among other things, the
formation of the district, and sets forth the powers and duties of
the district board of directors.
This bill would make various technical, nonsubstantive changes in
the provisions governing the powers and duties of a recreation and
park district.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 5786 of the Public Resources Code is amended to
read:
5786. A district may do all of the following :
(a) Organize, promote, conduct, and advertise programs of
community recreation, including, but not limited to, parks and open
space, parking, transportation, and any other related
services that improve the community's quality of life.
(b) Establish systems of recreation and recreation facilities,
including, but not limited to, parks and open space.
(c) Acquire, construct, improve, maintain, and operate recreation
facilities, including, but not limited to, parks and open space, both
inside and beyond the district's boundaries.
