BILL TEXT
INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Fletcher
FEBRUARY 24, 2012
An act to amend Section 3043.1 of the Penal Code, relating to
parole.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 2293, as introduced, Fletcher. Parole hearings: victim
representation.
Existing law provides that the victim of a crime, his or her next
of kin, or any immediate family member of the victim who appears at
any hearing to review or consider the parole suitability or the
setting of a parole date for any prisoner in the state prison, is
entitled to the attendance of one person of his or her own choosing
at the hearing for support.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that
provision.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 3043.1 of the Penal Code is amended to read:

of one person of his or her own choosing at the hearing for support.
