SUBJECT
Electronic Funds Task Force
DESCRIPTION
Repeals the Electronic Funds Task Force (Task Force) and
its related functions.
EXISTING LAW
Establishes the Task Force to study and report to the
Legislature by April 1, 2008, a plan for development and
implementation of a new payment dispersal system utilizing
electronic funds transfer technology.
BACKGROUND
According to the author, "the Task Force is responsible for
providing a plan on the development and implementation of a
new payment dispersal system using electronic funds
transfer technology. The Task Force is no longer needed
because the plan was completed in 2008. Elimination of the
Task Force would help reduce the number of non-operating
boards in our state."
The Board of Equalization reports that the Task Force never
produced a report. The reporting requirement was
subsequently repealed.
