   An act to add Section 25402.13 to the Public Resources Code,
relating to energy.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 2355, as introduced, Beth Gaines. Energy: appliance efficiency:
battery chargers.
   Existing law requires the State Energy Resources Conservation and
Development Commission to prescribe, by regulation, standards for
minimum levels of operating efficiency, based on a reasonable use
pattern. Existing law provides that regulations adopted become
effective no sooner than one year after the date of the adoption or
revision of the regulation.
   This bill would provide that regulations for non-USB battery
chargers adopted on or before January 1, 2014, would become effective
on January 1, 2014.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 25402.13 is added to the Public Resources Code,
to read:
   25402.13.  Notwithstanding paragraph (1) of subdivision (c) of
Section 25402, regulations adopted by the commission pursuant to
subdivision (c) of Section 25402 for nonuniversal serial bus
(non-USB) battery chargers on or before January 1, 2014, shall be
effective on January 1, 2014.
