   An act to amend Section 811.2 of the Government Code, relating to
the Tort Claims Act.

   AB 2524, as introduced, Harkey. Tort Claims Act: public entities.
   The Tort Claims Act provides for the liability and immunity of a
governmental entity for its acts or omissions that cause harm to
persons, and defines a public entity for these purposes.
   This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these
provisions.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 811.2 of the Government Code is amended to
read:
   811.2.  "Public entity" includes the state, the Regents of the
University of California, the Trustees of the California State
University and the California State University, a county, city,
district, public authority, public agency, and any other political
subdivision or public corporation in the  State 
 state  .
