           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "Federal Correctional Officer 
          Scott Williams Memorial Highway," the portion of State Route 1 
          between the California Boulevard exit and the Santa Lucia Canyon 
          Road/Floradale Avenue exit in Lompoc, Santa Barbara County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          No additional cost, as the resolution replaces one designation 
          with another. Costs to make and erect the appropriate signs are 
          covered by donations.  (State Highway Account.)

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose . This measure honors Officer Williams, who was murdered 
          by an inmate at the federal penitentiary in Lompoc on April 3, 
          1997.
