           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "Tuskegee Airmen Highway," the 
          portion of State Route 15 between Miramar Road and Mercy Road in 
          San Diego County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor State Highway Account costs to Caltrans to make and erect 
          appropriate signs; sign costs are covered by donations. 

           COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . The measure honors the African-American fighter pilots, 
          who were trained at the Tuskegee Institute, for their 
          distinguished service in World War II , which helped lead to the 
          eventual integration of U.S. Armed Forces.
