   An act to repeal Section 5205 of the Vehicle Code, relating to
vehicles.



	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 906, as introduced, DeSaulnier. Vehicles: vehicle
identification: stickers or other devices.
   Existing law authorizes the Department of Motor Vehicles to adopt
appropriate rules and regulations for the use and display of stickers
or devices issued in lieu of license plates and requires that the
department publish a summary of these rules and regulations.
   This bill would delete these provisions.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 5205 of the Vehicle Code is repealed. 
   5205.  The department may make appropriate rules and regulations
for the use and display of stickers or devices issued in lieu of
license plates, and shall publish a summary thereof.
