   An act to amend Section 11200 of the Welfare and Institutions
Code, relating to public social services.

   SB 1051, as introduced, Emmerson. CalWORKs.
   Existing law requires each county to provide cash assistance and
other social services to needy families through the California Work
Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program using
federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) block grant
program, state, and county funds.
   This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to the law
relating to CalWORKs.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 11200 of the Welfare and Institutions Code is
amended to read:
   11200.  This chapter shall be known  ,  and may be cited
 ,  as the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to
Kids Act, and may also be cited as the CalWORKs program.
