                   HR 12 (Bigelow) - As Introduced:  March 7, 2013
           
          SUBJECT  :   University of California 4-H Youth Development  
          Program.

           SUMMARY  :   Commends the University of California 4-H Youth  
          Development Program on the occasion of its centennial, for the  
          outstanding contributions it has made to young people throughout  
          the state.  Specifically,  this resolution  makes the following  
          legislative findings:

          1)2013 marks the centennial year of the University of California  
            4-H Youth Development Program; and, more than 72,000 young  
            people are active annually in 4-H programs in California.

          2)4-H emphasizes programming to promote healthy living, science,  
            engineering, technology literacy, citizenship, and leadership  
            through learning-by-doing; and, 4-H addresses issues facing  
            young people wherever they may live, including cities,  
            suburbs, and rural communities.

          3)The University of California 4-H Youth Development Program is  
            deserving of special recognition and the highest commendations  
            for its distinguished record of helping young people become  
            happy, healthy, and thriving citizens who make a positive  
            difference in their communities.
