To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am signing Assembly Bill 240 but reducing the amount appropriated
from Proposition 84 funds.

The author notes that much progress has been made in Maywood by the
mutual water companies that serve the community and its partners,
including the Water Replenishment District.

For these reasons I am reducing the appropriation from $7,500,000 to
$1,000,000.  In addition to this bill's appropriation, I also signed
AB 115 that will allow the public agencies to apply on behalf of
other public water systems for the benefit of the communities.  The
Replenishment District will have the ability to continue to partner
with the companies through the existing competitive process.
