SUMMARY : Requires the State Public Works Board (PWB) to
annually notify the Legislature of a payment agreement or
interest payment resulting from a property acquisition.
EXISTING LAW :
1)Requires all real property acquired by any state agency to be
acquired by the PWB.
2)Allows the PWB to enter into agreements, including payment and
interest agreements, with the owner of the property to be
acquired.
FISCAL EFFECT : According to the Assembly Appropriations
Committee, negligible fiscal impact. The Department of Finance
provides staff support to the PWB.
COMMENTS : This bill seeks to increase legislative oversight and
transparency by directing the PWB to annually notify the
Legislature of a payment agreement or interest payment resulting
from a property acquisition.
