           SUMMARY

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet)
to review providers of transportation services to veterans for
the purpose of identifying areas most in need of volunteer
transportation providers for veterans. Further requires CalVet
to compile a list, by county, of veterans' transportation
providers and post the list on its website.

            FISCAL EFFECT

Minor GF costs to CalVet, less than $30,000, to review, compile
          and post.

           COMMENTS

1)Rationale . According to the author, there is no single source
            of affordable transportation for veterans.

2)It is not clear why legislation is needed for CalVet to
compile a transportation resource. Presumably CalVet could and
would pursue such a service resource if the demand existed.
