An act relating to recidivism.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 2315, as introduced, Ridley-Thomas. Department of Justice: unit on recidivism.

Existing law establishes the Department of Justice under the direction and control of the Attorney General. Under existing law, the department is composed of the Office of the Attorney General and those other divisions, bureaus, branches, sections, or other units as the Attorney General may create within the department, as specified.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to create a unit on recidivism in the Department of Justice.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
