To the Members of the California State Assembly:

I am returning Assembly Bill 2581 without my signature.

The bill would add specific considerations which are already part of
the way the Energy Commission adopts appliance efficiency standards.
¦ The bill does not add any additional authority to the Commission.¦

I am directing the Commission to continue to work with all
stakeholders involved in the appliance efficiency standards and
consider all data submitted to the record, relevant market
developments and appropriate labeling options.
