DIGEST : This bill changes the name of the States assessment
system, from the Measurement of Academic Performance and
Progress (MAPP) to the California Assessment of Student
Performance and Progress, as specified.
ANALYSIS : Existing law establishes the State's assessment
system as MAPP and provides that MAPP is composed of the
following:
1.A consortium summative assessment in English language arts and
mathematics for grades 3-8 and grade 11.
2.Science grade level assessments in grades 5, 8 and 10.

3.The California Alternate Performance Assessment in grades 2-11
in English language arts and mathematics, until a successor
assessment is implemented.
4.The Early Assessment Program.
5.A primary language assessment.
This bill changes the name of the State's assessment system,
from MAPP to the California Assessment of Student Performance
and Progress, as specified.
