An act to amend Section 4041 of the Harbors and Navigation Code, relating to harbors.

Existing law establishes various harbor commissions in the state, and prescribes the membership and functions and duties of those commissions.

This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change in that provision prescribing the membership of a commission.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 4041 of the Harbors and Navigation Code
is amended to read:

4041.  

The harbor commission shall consist of five members,
each of whom, at the time of his begin insert or her end insert appointment, is and has
been for two years a bona fide resident, elector, and freeholder of
the county.

The commissioners shall be appointed to serve for the term of
four years, and until their successors are appointed and qualified,
and any vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the board of
supervisors.
