The Economic Revitalization Act establishes the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development, also known as “GO-Biz,” to, among other duties, serve the Governor as the lead entity for economic strategy and the marketing of California on issues relating to business development, private sector investment, and economic growth.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
Section 12096.2 of the Government Code is
2amended to read:
(a) The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic
4Development, also known as “GO-Biz,” isbegin delete herebyend delete established in
5state government within the Governor’s office. The office shall
6be under the direct control of a director, who shall be responsible
7to the Governor.
P2 1(b) The Governor shall appoint the Director of the Governor’s
2Office of Business and Economic Developmentbegin delete who shallend deletebegin insert toend insert
3 perform all duties, exercise all powers, assume and discharge all
4responsibilities, and carry out and effect all purposes vested by
5law in the office, including contracting for professional
or
6consultant services in connection with the work of the office.
7(c) The salary of the Director of the Governor’s Office of
8Business and Economic Development shall be fixed pursuant to
9Section 12001.
