Existing law requires the California Massage Therapy Council, a nonprofit organization, to issue a certificate as a massage therapist or massage practitioner to an applicant who satisfies all the requirements, as specified. Under existing law, these and related provisions remain in effect only until January 1, 2015, and are subject to review by the Joint Sunset Review Committee of the Legislature, as specified.
This bill would extend the operation of those provisions until January 1, 2019, and make those provisions subject to review by the appropriate policy committees of the Legislature.
