           SUBJECT  :    Senate Rule 12:  standing committees

           DIGEST  :    This resolution revises Senate Rule 12 relative to  
          standing committees by changing the numerical membership of  
          various standing committees.

           ANALYSIS  :    Senate Rule 12 provides for the numerical  
          membership and the subject matters of each of the Senate  
          standing committees.  The current numerical membership pursuant  
          to Senate Rule 12 of the standing committees is as follows:

           Agriculture - 5 members;
           Appropriations - 7 members;
           Banking and Financial Institutions - 9 members;
           Budget and Fiscal Review - 16 members;
           Business, Professions and Economic Development - 10 members;
           Education - 9 members;
           Election and Constitutional Amendments - 5 members;
           Energy, Utilities and Communications - 11 members;
           Environmental Quality - 9 members;
           Governance and Finance - 7 members;
           Governmental Organization - 11 members;
           Health - 9 members;
           Human Services - 6 members;

          This resolution changes the numerical membership of the  
          following standing committees to reflect the current membership  
          done procedurally by the Senate Rules Committee:

           Insurance - increases from 10 members to 11.
