           SUBJECT  :    Senate Rule 12:  standing committees

           DIGEST :    This resolution revises Senate Rule 12 relative to  
          standing committees by decreasing the numerical membership of  
          the Senate Environmental Quality Committee from nine to seven  
          members, and Senate Human Services Committee from six to five  
          members.

           ANALYSIS  :    Senate Rule 12 provides for the numerical  
          membership and the subject matters of each of the Senate  
          standing committees.  At the present time the Rule provides for  
          nine members for the Senate Environmental Quality Committee and  
          six members for the Senate Human Services Committee.

          This resolution decreases the numerical membership of the Senate  
          Environmental Quality Committee from nine to seven members, and  
          Senate Human Services Committee from six to five members.
