DIGEST : This resolution honors the University of California,
Davis' great achievement in earning the number one ranking in
the world for teaching and research in the areas of agriculture
and forestry.

ANALYSIS : This resolution makes the following legislative
findings:

1.On May 8, 2013, the University of California, Davis, was
ranked number one in the world for teaching and research in
the areas of agriculture and forestry by QS World University
Rankings.
2.The QS World University Rankings is widely considered to be
one of the most influential international university rankings
providers.
3.Currently, the University of California, Davis' College of
Agricultural and Environmental Sciences has 360 faculty
members, 5,300 undergraduate students in 27 majors, and 1,000
graduate students in 45 graduate groups and programs.
Furthermore, the College of Agricultural and Environmental
Sciences encompasses more than 5,000 acres, with 3,700 acres
devoted to agricultural teaching and research.
4.The University of California, Davis, is the most published and
cited United States Research University in agricultural
sciences, plant and animal sciences, environment and ecology,
food science and nutrition, and soil sciences.
This resolution honors the University of California, Davis'
great achievement in earning the number one ranking in the world
for teaching and research in the areas of agriculture and
forestry.
