Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 97—Relative to California Heroes Month.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

SCR 97, as introduced, Anderson. California Heroes Month.

This measure would recognize September 2014 and each following September as California Heroes Month.

P1    1WHEREAS, Heroes hold concern for other people in need --
2a concern to defend a moral cause, knowing there is a personal
3risk and acting without expectation of reward; and

4WHEREAS, The purpose of a Heroes Month, wherever in the
5nation it is established, is to honor, recognize, and pay homage to
6those acts of kindness and selfless courage by individuals, groups,
7organizations, institutions, small businesses, or corporations; and

8WHEREAS, A California Heroes Month affords an excellent
9opportunity for our state to protect, uphold, and expand our
10country’s values by simply appreciating and empowering the spirit
11of heroism; and

12WHEREAS, A California Heroes Month is a magnificent
13opportunity for the residents of California to educate the public
14on the importance of selflessly giving and recognizing those local
15conventional, nonconventional, and unsung heroes within each
16community; now, therefore, be it

17Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, the Assembly
18thereof concurring,
That the Legislature hereby recognizes the

2California Heroes Month, thereby honoring the valuable
3contributions of those Californians who uphold the character of
4heroism; and be it further

5Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of
6this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
