P1 1WHEREAS, The Constitution of the United States of America,
2the guardian of our liberties, embodies the principles of limited
3government in a Republic dedicated to rule by law; and
4WHEREAS, September 17, 2014, marks the 227th anniversary
5of the framing of the Constitution of the United States of America
6by the Constitutional Convention; and
7WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition
8to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary, and
9to the patriotic celebrations that will commemorate it; and
10WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a
11proclamation each year by the President of the United States of
12America designating September 17 through 23, inclusive, as
13Constitution Week; now, therefore, be it
14Resolved by the Senate of the State of California, that the Senate
15commemorates the 227th anniversary of the signing of the United
16States Constitution on September 17, 2014, and recognizes the
17sacrifices made by the people who made the signing possible.
18Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit copies of
19this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
