           DIGEST  :    This resolution proclaims the week of October 19-25,  
          2014, inclusive, as National Massage Therapy Awareness Week in  
          California.

           Assembly Amendments  delete a provision referencing the American  
          Massage Therapy Association, and add language relating to the  
          state's regulation of massage therapists.

           ANALYSIS  :    This resolution makes the following legislative  
          findings:

          1. Massage therapy is beneficial to overall health and is  
             increasingly part of integrated health care; and therapeutic  
             massage can benefit people of all ages.

          2. Consumers annually spend in excess of $12 billion on massage  
             therapy, and more insurance companies are covering it. 

          3. Massage therapists consistently provide consumer and  
             professional education information on massage and help  
             consumers and health professionals locate qualified massage  
             therapists in their area.

          This resolution proclaims the week of October 19-25, 2014,  
          inclusive, as National Massage Therapy Awareness Week in  
          California.
