An act to amend Section 701 of the Public Utilities Code, relating to public utilities.

Existing law grants the Public Utilities Commission regulatory authority over public utilities, and authorizes the commission to do all things that are necessary and convenient in the exercise of its authority.

This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to this law.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 701 of the Public Utilities Code is
amended to read:

701.  

The commission may supervise and regulate every public
utility in the begin delete State end delete begin insert state end insert and may do all things, whether specifically
designated in this part or in addition begin delete thereto, which end delete begin insert to this part,
that end insert are necessary and convenient in the exercise of begin delete such end delete begin insert its end insert power
and jurisdiction.
