Existing law authorizes the State Energy Resources Conservation and Development Commission to expend certain funds, used for grants and loans from the Geothermal Resources Development Account, to provide direct technical assistance to local jurisdictions, as specified.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:
Section 3822.2 of the Public Resources Code is
2amended to read:
(a) Notwithstanding anybegin delete otherend delete provision of law, the
4State Energy Resources Conservation and Development
5Commission may expend funds, from that portion of the
6Geothermal Resources Development Account used by the
7commission for grants and loans, to provide direct technical
8assistance to local jurisdictionsbegin delete whichend deletebegin insert thatend insert are eligible for grants
9and loans pursuant to Section 3822.
10(b) The total of all amounts expended pursuant to this section
11shall not exceed 5
percent of all funds available under Section
P2 13822 or one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000), whichever
2amount is less.
3(c) In making expenditures under this section, the commission
4shall consider, but not be limited to a consideration of, all of the
5following:
6(1) The availability of energy resource and technology
7opportunities.
8(2) The project definition and likelihood of success.
9(3) Local needs and potential project benefits.
