DESCRIPTION
This bill repeals or modifies several sections of the Public
Utilities Code which were added in 1996 as part of the
deregulation of electricity in AB 1890 (Peace).
COMMENTS
1. Author's Purpose . This is a code maintenance bill in
which the author intends to revise, renumber and repeal
sections of the Public Utilities Code which no longer have
utility.
2. Code Clean-Up . The electricity crisis and gaming of the
market which occurred in the early 2000s resulted in
significant modifications to the market envisioned by AB
1890 making these statutes obsolete. Other code changes
eliminate cross-references to the statutes being repealed.
