SB 1402, as introduced, De León. Employees: wage deductions.
Existing law prohibits a deduction from the wages of an employee, on account of the employee coming late to work, in excess of the proportionate wage that would have been earned during the time actually lost, except for authorizing the deduction of 1⁄2-hour’s wage for a loss of time of less than 30 minutes.
This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.
