   An act relating to kindergarten to grade 14 education.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 2656, as introduced, O'Donnell. Kindergarten to grade 14
education.
   Existing law establishes a system of elementary and secondary
schools in this state in which instruction is received by pupils in
kindergarten and grades 1 to 12, inclusive. Existing law establishes
the California Community Colleges, under the administration of the
Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, as one of
the segments of postsecondary education in this state. Kindergarten
to grade 14 education is commonly characterized as comprising the
elementary and secondary schools and community colleges.
   This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation relating to kindergarten to grade 14 education in this
state.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation relating to kindergarten to grade 14 education in this
state.
