   An act to amend Section 127005 of the Health and Safety Code,
relating to public health.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 2711, as introduced, Chiu. Office of Statewide Health Planning
and Development.
   Existing law establishes the Office of Statewide Health Planning
and Development within the California Health and Human Services
Agency. Existing law places the office under the control of an
executive officer known as the Director of Statewide Health Planning
and Development. Existing law provides that the director is appointed
by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate, and holds
office at the pleasure of the Governor.
   This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that
provision.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 127005 of the Health and Safety Code is amended
to read:
   127005.  The office is under the control of an executive officer
known as the Director of Statewide Health Planning and 
Development, who   Development. The director  shall
be appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the Senate,
and hold office at the pleasure of the Governor. He or she shall
receive the annual salary provided by Article 1 (commencing with
Section 11550) of Chapter 6 of Part 1 of Division 3 of Title 2 of the
Government Code.
