          DIGEST:          This resolution recognizes May 15, 2016, as �o D�i  
          Day.
          ANALYSIS:   This resolution makes the following legislative  
          findings:


          1)The Vietnamese American community desires to designate a  
            special day to invite all residents of California to share in  
            its cultural heritage by wearing the Vietnamese �o D�i. 


          2)The �o D�i, the Vietnamese traditional long gown, has long  
            been recognized as the symbol of cultural aesthetics and pride  
            of people of Vietnamese descent.


          3)The Vietnamese American community has held a community event  
            known as the �o D�i Festival on a biennial basis.


          4)The �o D�i Festival will be held in San Jose during Asian  
            Pacific Islander American Heritage Month in May 2016.
