An act to add Section 2602 to the Penal Code, relating to
prisoners.

Existing law specifies the terms and conditions of imprisonment
for persons sentenced to the state prison.
This bill would provide that a person sentenced to imprisonment in
the state prison for a violent felony, as specified, does
not have a right to, and shall not be allowed, conjugal visits
, and does not have a right to, and shall not be allowed, to
watch television .
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2602 is added to the Penal Code, to read:
2602. (a) A person sentenced to imprisonment
in the state prison for a violent felony, as defined in
subdivision (c) of Section 667.5, does not have a right to, and
shall not be allowed, conjugal visits.
(b) A person sentenced to imprisonment in the state prison does
not have a right to, and shall not be allowed, to watch television.
