Existing law establishes the Teachers' Retirement Law, as
specified.
This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation providing for enhanced benefits to teachers who retired
prior to 1999 pursuant to the Teachers' Retirement Law, and who
return to teaching for a significant period of time.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation providing for enhanced benefits to teachers who retired
prior to January 1, 1999, pursuant to the Teachers' Retirement Law
and who return to teaching for a significant period of time.
